Martins Lorencis wins Latvian Champs!
For the 4th year running Martins Lorencis is the 70kg Latvian Armwrestling National Champion winning on both hands with no losses the entire day. Sorry but the 2011 Latvian Nationals was removed from youtube so while we source another location here is Martins winning the 2008 Nationals.
Martins Lorencis personal bio
- Born in 1984 in Riga, Latvia (part of The Soviet Union at that time).
- Studied Technology Entrepreneurship at University of Surrey in England and Swinburne University of Technology in Australia.
- 4-time Latvian National Champion, 3 x 75kg and this year 2011 70kg class, with both hands, no defeats. British Open Champion 2005&2006 75kg class; 2006 World Arm Wrestling Championships 70kg class 16th of the Right Hand.
I have done many types of sports, from athletics & Taekwondo in early school years, to snowboarding and cycling throughout my adolescence, to arm wrestling for about 9 years now. However, I have only recently discovered what is the greatest 'sport' on earth, not only for exercising our physical bodies, but uniting mind, body and soul - YOGA! I have been a practitioner of Iyengar yoga method for two-and-a-half years. I do really recommend yoga to everyone wholeheartedly. My short term career plan is to become yoga teacher. Type of yoga is secondary, practice means everything! Namaste.
